Rules - Vefsna Sea Trout Festival
Every competitor is responsible for personal insurance (equipment and person) during the Vefsna Sea Trout Festival. The organizer is not responsible for damage on equipment or personal injuries during the festival.
The organizer are free to - without warning - to exclude competitors for:
- Influence of drugs/alcohol during competition.
- Bad sportsmanship/behaviour against fellow competitors/controllers.
The fee will not be paid back, if competitor is excluded for those reasons.

1.A - Flyfishing
1.1. Only one fly rod may be used at one time
1.2. Lead core lines and shooting heads are allowed.
1.3. Factory made floating, sinking or sinktip lines may be used
1.4. Any type of fly is allowed. You can fish with a two single hook fly or one dual hooked fly. All hooks shall be barb-free.
1.5. Only fish hooked in the mouth area (in front of the gill cover) will be eligible.
1.6. Wader panta are allowed.
1.7. Fish must be landed in a net, kept by the competitor. Netting of the fish must be done by the competitor.
1.8. Landed fish in good health and not bleeding from the gills shall be released. One fish every day can be taken for food. Damaged fish will be concidered put down by the officials.
1.B - Spinfishing
1.1. It is only allowed to fish with lures. Worm bait is not allowed.
1.2. Any other weight on the line than lure is not allowed.
1.3. All regular fabric made lines are allowed.
1.4. All types of lures are allowed. It is allowed to fish with up to 2 barb-free hooks (for example 2 singel hooks or a double hook). Wobblers with the belly hook removed is allowed. 1.5. Only fish hooked in the mouth area (in front of the gill cover) will be eligible.
1.6. Wader pants are allowed.
1.7. Fish must be landed in a net, kept by the competitor. Netting of the fish must be done by the competitor.

2. - River Competition Venues
2.1. All competitors shall fish 3 laps from 3 different sectors with different quality, given by lot.
2.2 Each sector is divided into beats, beginning upstreams
2.3. The beats have different lengths and the fishing can be done on several beats within the the same lap and sector - when its natural. This is administrated by an official.
2.4. There is a sector of 5 m between each beat where fishing is prohibited. (Neither that the fly is in the sector or that - the competitor wades/walks in the sector.)
2.5. Spectatores are given access to the sectores, but not closer than 20 meters from the riverbank
3. - Fish
3.1. In the competition eligible fish is only sea trout with a minimum size of 30 cm.
3.2. Fish hooked within timelimit, is eligible if landed within 20 minutes after the end of period. Fish can not be played in- other competitors beats.
3.3. After each lot, points are given for each sector. The competitor having most kilogram fish are given 10 points. - Second most 9 points e.t.c. When equal amount of kilos occurs, the competitor with the biggest fish is given the - upper score.
3.4. The competitor with the best score from all the 3 sectors, wins the competetion. When equal points occure ,the - competitor with the biggest fish is the winner.
3.5 The winner of "The Vefsna Honorary Price" will be the competitor that has landed the biggest fish.
4. - Transport and officials
4.1. The organizer are responsible for all transport from and to the base at Fru Haugans Hotel
4.2. There will be one official to each competitor.
4.3. Captured fish shall be handed over to the officials who will record the weight, time of capture and release the fish. - The fish shall be weighted in the net.
4.4 All competitors must be present at the appeall due to the program. Missing appearing can lead to disqulification.
4.5. All transport will be arranged so that the competitor will be at his/hers beat at least 15 minutes before the starting - time of the competition period.
5. - Responsibility and insurance
5.1. The organizer of the competition do not take any responsibility for any harm on the participants or any category - of equipment during the festival. The competitors must have a personal responsibility insurance which includes - his security, all the transfers and other activities during the fishing. The participants must bring his own - equipment and all other necessary items for all activities during the festival.
6. - Jury
6.1. The organizer nominate a jury composed of 5 members. Two of them will be competitors. All complains shall be - delivered in writing to the jury latest 2 hours after the daily fishing period is ended. Subsidiary not later than - 5.00 pm on the last day of the festival.
